What are the differences between viruses and bacteria?

Bacteria are self-supporting life forms. They live. Viruses are non-living hijackers that have to hijack other cells to live. They are just DNA bits or possibly RNA, and by themselves they don't do anything. But they get into cells and re-program the cells to make more viruses, instead of doing whatever that cell was doing before.

What are the differences between viruses and bacteria?triumph

Bacteria are cells (prokariotic cells), viruses are not.

Bacteria reproduce with their own enzymatic machinery, viruses do not.

Bacteria have metabolism, viruses do not.

Viruses are a combination of genetic material, as DNA or RNA, and some proteins. They introduce them selves in a cell and use its host's enzymatic machinery to replicate its genome and produce new viral proteins, which will ensemble later and produce new viruses, which in turn will infect other cells. There are viruses that infect bacteria, but there is no bacteria that can infect a virus.

What are the differences between viruses and bacteria?worms

bacteria can reproduce on it own asexually, and a virus cannot, it doubted by many scientists over the matter of if it is even alive, it stays alive by invading the cells of the body, inserting its own DNA or RNA, and reproduce more viruses, which it spreads to other cells, viruses are harder to destroy because they can mutate and the immune system will have to find a new way of finding and destroying it
Bacteria are very simple plants, can reproduce in presense of food, can assimilate and grow by themselves. Are fully living entities.

Virus: Cannot reproduce themselves, are an organized pile of organic chemicals with some kind of structure, have either DNA or RNA. Living cells, either plant or animal, must do the work of replicating for them..virus are stuck between living and non-living.. neither animal nor plant.
Virus = nonliving

Bacteria = living
Bacteria is a whole, living cell. It contains all of the requirements for existence.

A virus is a segment of DNA or RNA with a protein coating. It requires another living cell to provide it with materials to duplicate itself.
