doesnt spyware record key strokes for password hacking ect.

So why do ppl make viruses?computer protection

Most of the people make viruses just for fun.

But some of them,they do it for some purpose like

-hack into people computer to get their TOP SECRET FILES

-Crash the victim computer which stored lot of TOP SECRET FILES

etc.........

For the money and profit it used to be Teenagers who did it

just for kicks but now it's pro's who are paid by the mob and

the underworld to infect pcs with the goal of creating botnets they sell and lease as slaves to clients who pay them top dollar for spamming, ddos attacks, phishing, whatever they need them for.
Viruses aren't really a hacking tool. They just spread malicious code around a PC network - deleting or corrupting files, disabling software etc etc. They are written by people trying to prove they can exploit security holes in an O/S or just to cause mindless damage.

Or, you could view it as a conspiracy theory - that the companies that provide commercial anti-virus software are the people who are creating the viruses in the first place:)
Today it's all about making money.
