Frostwire and Limewire uses the same network (Gnutella http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gnutella ) to share files so you'll find the same files with Frostwire as with Limewire.
Just scan everything you download with your antivirus program and anti-spyware/adware program and you should be safe.
yes, just get a virus scanner: http://www.avast.com or learn the difference between viruses and legit songs. don't download any applications and virus-scan everything.
The bottom line is.. you must be using a proper security suite on your computer... and by proper.. I mean a suite that includes antivirus, firewall, antispyware, antiadware, etc... from a RELIABLE vendor (like McAfee)... that is properly configured and kept completely up to date.
This must be coupled with safe browsing habits, common sense, basic computer maintenance (such as ensuring windows updates are updating, etc) and last but not least, making sure you understand how to operate that security suite and know how to respond to an alert.
This is how people get infected. By not utilizing these very basic security principles.
If you do not utilize these principles it will not matter what program you use to get your illegal downloads...
