thats good a simple question to answer.

go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ now allow it to scan your computer. fix any and all errors it reports. now update your preexisting firewall and viruscanner with the latestest updates available by clicking the programs update option or by goiung direct to the publishers website.

Alternatively go to www.trendmicro.com and download pc-cillin internet security14 it is the best security suite you will ever use with updates almost hourly on occasion, unlike other companies who update once or twice a week or worse monthly.

to be sure you did remove the virus you need to turn off system restore (windows XP and vista) see the help section of the O/s for detailed instructions.

now repeat the scan and clean. you then need to use the online scan again. to be sure you are clean use both the trendmicro scan online and the scan available at www.symantec.com again fix any problems the scan finds (the scan can clean your system for you if you let it). now repeat the whle thing again.

only once you get a congratulationss your system is clean or similer message should you power off your computer (use the shutdown not re-start) wait a few minutes (two or three is more than sufficient. if you use a router turn that off at the same time you turn off your computer (making sure no other network users are on the home network). again wait a good five minutes with your router. so may be go have a meal or a snack/ coffee break etc. when you return power up the hub/ router first. then your computer.
