鈽卍o you know how viruses invade and take over cells?internet security 2006

a virus has a protein coat which surrounds its RNA or DNA genome.

when the virus enters the host cell it sends its genome into the hosts cell leaving behind the protein coat. if it is a viral RNA then viral DNA is produced by the enzyme Reverse Transcriptase. This viral DNA is encorporated into the host's genome (into its origin of replication sequence).New viral RNA are produced by the infected cells. These viral RNA develope a protein coat on themselves and become viruses. They burst out of the cell and infect other cells and thus spread infection.

In general, they trick your body's proteins into producing products for them.

but read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virus
Reverse transcriptase is only in retroviruses =p

there are 2 ways in which a virus reposduces and takes over cells

lysogenic and lytic

lysogenic is were it combines itself with the host dna and just moves allong into other cells when they reproduce without killing the host

lytic reproduction is were it destroys the host after making copies.
