if a cat dies of an illness are his germs transferable off his used cat furniture or climbers , could my cat get sick, if so how do I kill the germs if lysol is toxic to cats?

I have a cat only luxury cat boarding kennel and we have climbing post in most of the rooms we rent to board the cat in.

The only illness that we worry about is distemper. That can live in a building etc.. for months. But that is why all the cats must have A current distemper vaccine. But all the other diseases can only live for a very short period on things like cat trees. With the exception of ringworm fungus.

We use special cleaner on cat trees only occasionally and vacuum every time the room is cleaned and we have never had problem. You can use very diluted bleach and water. Like 1 tablespoon in a spray bottle filled with water. Spray it down and let it dry. And be sure your cat is current on Distemper shot.
